Lifeline volunteers are crucial to our organisation and are at the heart of everything we do to make a difference. 

Our volunteers are involved in making sales, sorting donations, customer service and creating shop displays, all to help raise funds for Lifeline services in your local region.

This volunteering opportunity is with Lifeline Direct. We operate a group of Lifeline Shops that help fund the work of the local Lifeline Centre in the region. What are the benefits of volunteering at Lifeline?

Volunteering with Lifeline offers meaningful benefits, including improved mental and physical wellbeing, increased self-esteem and the opportunity to develop new skills and experience.

Many of our retail volunteers find purpose in knowing that funds raised in our shops directly support suicide prevention services. They also value the sense of connection with their local community, the opportunity to give back and the friendships formed through volunteering. 

How old do I have to be to volunteer in a Lifeline shop?

We are able to welcome volunteers from 16 year of age in selected shops, but 18+ for all shops and warehouse roles.

How much time do I need to commit to volunteering?

We offer our volunteers great flexibility and you can volunteer from 3hrs a week or as much as you like. However attendance on a regular bases is valued as the shop manager relies on the support of volunteers to manage the day to day operations and upkeep of the shop.
